15515 Waki’ narrated to us, saying: Khammas bin Al-Hasan narrated to us, from Sayyar bin Manzur Al-Fazari, from his father, from Buhaysah, from her father, who said:
“I sought permission from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I entered between him and his shirt.
I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, what is something that it is not permissible to withhold?’ He said: ‘Water.’
I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, what is something that it is not permissible to withhold?’ He said: ‘Water.’
I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, what is something that it is not permissible to withhold?’ He said: ‘Doing good is better for you.’
Muhammad bin Ja’far narrated to us: [Page: 481] He said: Khammas narrated to us, saying: I heard Sayyar bin Manzur Al-Fazari, who said: My father narrated to me from Buhaysah, who said:
“My father sought permission from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he entered between him and his shirt, and he narrated its meaning.”
Sunan Abi Dawood – Hadith 5224
AbdurRahman ibn AbuLayla, quoting Usayd ibn Hudayr, a man of the Ansar, said that while he was given to jesting and was talking to the people and making them laugh, the Prophet (ﷺ) poked him under the ribs with a stick. He said: Let me take retaliation. He said: Take retaliation. He said: You are wearing a shirt but I am not. The Prophet (ﷺ) then raised his shirt and the man embraced him and began to kiss his side. Then he said: This is what I wanted, Messenger of Allah!
