Islamic texts, including the Quran and Ahadiths, contain passages that use very vulgar language, explicitly mentioning sexual organs and acts. This blog post will address some examples of such vulgarity.
- Quran 78:33:
The verse states: “And young full-breasted (mature) maidens of equal age.” This description from the Quran explicitly focuses on the sexualized feature of the maidens’ breasts, using very vulgar language to describe their physical attributes. - Quran 21:91:
The verse mentions: “she who was guarded her vagina, we breathed into her (vagina) our Spirit and made her and her son a token for (all) peoples.” The use of the word فرج (farj), which explicitly means “vagina,” and the description of breathing spirit into it, is a clear example of very vulgar language used in the Quran. - Sahih Bukhari Hadith 7116:
The Hadith states: “Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, ‘The Hour will not be established till the buttocks of the women of the tribe of Daus move while going round Dhi-al-Khalasa.'” This Hadith uses very vulgar language by focusing on the movement of women’s buttocks, a sexualized body part, in the context of idol worship. - Sahih Bukhari Hadith 2731, 2732:
Abu Bakr is quoted as saying: “suck the clitoris of al-lat (pagan god).” This statement is an example of extremely vulgar language, directly referencing the act of sucking the clitoris, a highly explicit and sexual act, in the context of pagan worship. - Al-Adab Al-Mufrad Hadith 963:
The Hadith states: “‘Utayy ibn Damura said, ‘I saw with Ubay a man who was attributing himself (in lineage) with an attribution of Jahiliyyah, so Ubay told him to bite his father’s male organ and did not speak figuratively (i.e. was explicit). So his companions looked at him. He said, ‘It appears that you disapprove of it.’ Then he said, ‘I will never show apprehension to anyone with regards to this. Verily, I heard the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, “Whomever attributes himself (in lineage) with an attribution of Jahiliyyah, then tell him to bite his father’s male organ and do not speak figuratively (i.e. be explicit).”’”
This Hadith, graded as Sahih by Al-Albani, uses very vulgar language by explicitly instructing someone to bite their father’s male organ (Penis) as a way to denounce their claim of lineage from the time of Jahiliyyah. The command is direct and graphic, emphasizing the vulgarity through the explicit mention of a sexual act involving a male organ.
These examples demonstrate that Islamic texts, specifically the Quran and Ahadiths, contain passages with very vulgar language. The explicit mention of sexual organs and acts in these texts can be shocking due to their directness and graphic nature.
